CS1232 Carbon Sulfur Analyzer
The carbon-sulfur analyzer is a high-tech product used to measure carbon and sulfur content in a wide range of samples. It can rapidly and accurately analyze alloys, ores, non-ferrous metals, cement, ceramics, minerals, catalysts, and several other inorganic materials. The C/S analyzers use a combination of optical, electrical, computing, and analytical technologies to perform advanced-level analysis.
Combustion Carbon Sulfur Analyzer Configurations
A C/S analyzer may be available as a single substance analyzer (measure either carbon or sulfur), or in a configuration that could facilitate simultaneous measurement of both carbon and sulfur.
The product typically incorporates up to four infrared (IR) cells to allow you to adjust measurements according to your requirement. The longer is the cuvette length, the greater is the sensitivity for analysis. The latest detection mechanism employed in the carbon-sulfur analyzer is deemed suitable for a wide measuring range. It can measure samples with concentrations as low as 1ppm and as high as up to 100%.
Carbon Sulfur Analysis And Operation Process
Based on the need for sample detection, an induction furnace or resistance furnace may be chosen for the pre-treatment process. After decontamination, the carrier gas i.e. oxygen is passed into the combustion furnace where in presence of oxygen in the high-temperature environment the sample undergoes oxidation. It converts to CO, CO2, and So2.
These oxidation products are then fed into the sulfur detection unit by oxygen for analysis of sulfur concentration. Then oxygen along with gas mix passes into the catalyst heater to convert CO to CO2 and SO2 to SO3 through catalytic oxidation.
After sulfur extraction, the gas mixture is directed to a high carbon IR detection cell and a low carbon IR detection cell simultaneously for carbon analysis. The leftover gas is then discharged out and the observations of % carbon and sulfur concentration are highlighted on the software. This data is automatically stored on a computer for later retrieval. The analysis software may also issue a printed report with detailed analysis if needed.
Thus, Carbon/Sulphur Analyzers can detect concentrations of carbon and sulfur in a fast and precise manner. Moreover, they are easy to operate and don’t require any sophisticated maintenance.
Labfit CS1232 Carbon Sulfur Analyzer
Labfit is a high-tech manufacturer of testing products and instruments. The Labfit’s exclusive new-generation CS1232 Carbon Sulfur Analyzer with integrated intelligent software solution provides your laboratory enhanced productivity and low expenditure per analysis.
The CS-1232 is fitted with a resistance furnace, which is the preferred method for analysing materials such Coal, Coking Coal, Cement, Bauxite, Oils. Mineral Ores, Plants and Soils.
The resistance furnace offers several advantages such as:
- An “open” tube combustion system that allows the analysis of volatile material without doing damage to the instrument.
- Higher detection limits. For example a sample weight of 300-500 mg can be used for doing 40% Sulphur in Mineral Ores.
- No need for troublesome filters to trap dust created by accelerators.
- Easier cleaning of the combustion system due to a less complicated design.
